Crittenden Roots

Alan Crittenden started Crittenden Research Inc. in 1972 with a newsletter that was designed to support his real estate brokerage business. He found that the newsletter was highly sought after and incorporated in 1974 in Newport Beach, Calif. and began selling subscriptions. The company grew quickly, adding other newsletters and he moved to Nevada City in 1979. He launched into the conference business, with highly successful Meet the Lenders events.

In 1982, he moved to Novato, where the company would have an office for the next 40 years. It was here that it reaches its height in terms of products, revenue, and number of employees. Alan moved to San Diego in 1993 and maintained two offices for the next 29 years.

In 2020, Alan’s son, Jack Crittenden, acquired Crittenden Research as Alan retired from the business. Along with Jack’s existing business, Cypress Magazines, the two companies joined in venture to create Crittenden Partners.

In 2021, the company officially opened an office in Ammon, Idaho which became the new headquarters for both companies.

To this day, Crittenden continuously expands the scope of analysis in a subscription-based model that allows for a truly detailed and independent examination of the real estate and insurance industries. These reports, in conjunction with online directories, focus on the major and most aggressive players, offering insight overlooked or ignored by advertising-driven news sources. These directories are trusted by people at all levels of their respective industries, from front-line personnel to high-level executives.
