OPTIONS EXPAND FOR LAWYERS
|
Expect increased competition in lawyers professional liability, a class prized by carriers for the high premium volume, which is in the neighborhood of $300 million nationwide. Look for carriers in this field to expand policies or introduce new programs to retain insureds, or bring new ones into their folds. The segment has recently seen some new entrants, and established carriers are making some changes. Company Removed enhances its lawyers professional liability policies and joins forces with Company Removed to administer the coverage in select states. Company Removed sees interest pick up in the wake of a new rule established by the state bar at the start of the year requiring lawyers to disclose to clients if they are retained for more than four hours of service and do not have insurance. Company Removed, which received affirmation of its “A” rating by A.M. Best at the start of June, sees general interest from a wide variety of lawyers and law firms within its target market segments.
